Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA) to join our growing accountancy practice. This role is ideal for a proactive professional with 3–5 years' experience in a UK accountancy practice who is confident managing a portfolio of clients and delivering high-quality accounting, taxation, and advisory services.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, VAT returns, and management accounts, while building strong client relationships and ensuring compliance with UK accounting and tax legislation. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies in accordance with UK accounting standards.
- Prepare and submit Corporation Tax Returns (CT600) and liaise with HMRC where required.
- Prepare Self-Assessment Tax Returns for individuals, directors, and partnerships.
- Prepare management accounts and provide financial reports to clients.
- Prepare and review VAT Returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
- Manage a portfolio of clients, acting as their primary point of contact for accounting, taxation, and business queries.
- Provide proactive advice and support to clients on accounting, tax, and financial matters.
- Assist clients with cloud accounting software, including Xero, QuickBooks, and Sage.
- Review and support the work of junior team members, providing guidance and mentoring where appropriate.
- Assist with year-end planning and ensure all statutory filing deadlines are met.
- Liaise with HMRC and Companies House regarding client matters.
- Maintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with internal procedures and professional standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve client processes and recommend efficient accounting solutions.
Skills & Experience
- ACA or ACCA qualified.
- 3–5 years' experience working within a UK accountancy practice.
- Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards, Corporation Tax, VAT, and Self-Assessment.
- Experience managing a portfolio of clients.
- Proficiency in cloud accounting software, including Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Pay: £25,420.00-£40,000.00 per year
