Meadowbanks Care Home is seeking a warm, creative and enthusiastic Activity Coordinator to join our dedicated team.
You will play an important role in supporting the emotional, social and physical wellbeing of our residents by planning and delivering a varied programme of meaningful activities. You will also take the lead on Meadowbanks’ social media presence, fundraising initiatives and seasonal events.
We are looking for someone who is energetic, highly organised and confident using platforms such as Canva, Facebook and TikTok to showcase life at Meadowbanks in a positive and professional way.

Meadowbanks is an award-winning, 40-bedded residential care home situated within approximately four acres of beautifully landscaped grounds in Upminster.
We provide high-quality, person-centred care within a warm, luxurious and homely environment. Our focus is on promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing while ensuring every resident feels safe, respected, valued and genuinely at home.
Your Responsibilities
As our Activity Coordinator, you will:
- Plan and deliver a varied programme of group and one-to-one activities.
- Take time to understand each resident’s interests, life history, hobbies and individual preferences.
- Organise activities that support residents’ physical, emotional, social and cognitive wellbeing.
- Arrange entertainment, themed events, celebrations, outings and visits from local community groups.
- Lead the planning and delivery of seasonal events
- Organise fundraising activities and charity events involving residents, relatives, staff and the local community.
- Develop relationships with local schools, businesses, entertainers, community groups and volunteers.
- Take the lead on Meadowbanks’ social media content, including Facebook and TikTok.
- Create engaging and professional posts, videos, posters, invitations and promotional materials using Canva.
- Capture photographs and videos that positively showcase residents’ activities and life at Meadowbanks.
- Maintain residents’ dignity, privacy and confidentiality across all digital content.
- Promote upcoming activities, events and fundraising campaigns across the home’s communication channels.
- Support residents who may be less able or willing to participate in group activities through meaningful one-to-one engagement.
- Prepare monthly activity calendars, posters and notices for residents and relatives.
- Maintain accurate records of activities, participation and resident feedback.
- Gather residents’ views and use their feedback to develop the activity programme.
- Complete appropriate risk assessments and ensure activities are delivered safely.
- Manage activity resources, equipment and budgets responsibly.
- Work closely with the care team to ensure activities form a meaningful part of each resident’s care and wellbeing plan.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a warm, friendly and compassionate manner.
- Is creative, enthusiastic and able to bring fresh ideas to the role.
- Is confident creating content for Facebook, TikTok and other social media platforms.
- Is experienced in using Canva to produce attractive and professional materials.
- Has strong organisational skills and can confidently coordinate events and fundraising activities.
- Is confident leading both group activities and one-to-one engagement.
- Is patient, encouraging and able to motivate others.
- Understands the importance of dignity, choice, independence and person-centred care.
- Ideally has previous experience within a care home, healthcare, activities, events or similar environment.
