We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Hygiene Operative to join our busy Production team!
In this hands-on role, you'll help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our production areas, playing a key part in supporting food safety, product quality, and operational efficiency.
You'll be responsible for cleaning machinery, equipment, and workspaces throughout the site, ensuring they remain safe, hygienic, and ready for operation. As this role is based within a butchery environment, you'll need to be comfortable working around raw meat products, blood, and other associated by-products.
You'll follow strict hygiene and health & safety procedures at all times, particularly when cleaning machinery and specialist equipment. With great attention to detail and a proactive approach, you'll contribute to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient production environment.

Shifts: 5 days a week (including weekends), 7am-4pm
Salary: £27,293 per annum
Time Off: 30 days holiday + 22 additional days off
What You'll Be Doing:

Carrying out thorough cleaning and sanitisation of equipment, machinery, surfaces and workspaces within the butchery area

Following cleaning schedules and hygiene protocols to ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Ensuring areas are ready for production use, supporting hygiene compliance and operational efficiency

Remaining flexible to support other cleaning tasks or production areas when required

Report any faults, hazards or hygiene concerns to the relevant supervisor
- Maintaining high standards of personal hygiene including hand washing, PPE use and accurate illness reporting
- Handling cleaning chemicals and equipment responsibly, adhering to COSHH guidelines and company policies

Experience in a hygiene/cleaning role within a food environment (Desired)

Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards (Desired)
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Strong time management and attention to detail.
- Has the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
- Comfortable working within a butchery environment and around blood

Able to lift items up to 25kg
