We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Home Care Support Workers to provide exceptional care and assistance to clients in their own homes. Undertaking 2 carer and 1 carer visits, this role involves supporting individuals with a variety of needs, including elderly care, dementia, Alzheimer’s, and general health support. The ideal candidate will be committed to promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life for clients. Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or hospice care is highly desirable. Responsibilities
- Assisting clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Providing medication administration and ensuring medication schedules are followed accurately
- Preparing nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Supporting patients with dementia or Alzheimer’s through behaviour management techniques
- Engaging clients in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Assisting with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and safe environment
- Driving clients to appointments or social activities as needed
- Monitoring health status and reporting any changes or concerns to healthcare professionals
- Offering emotional support and companionship to reduce feelings of loneliness or isolation
- Adhering strictly to health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
Experience
- Previous experience in home care, assisted living, nursing home, or hospice environments is preferred
- Knowledge of caring for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease is advantageous
- Experience in medication administration and basic first aid skills are desirable
- Familiarity with behaviour management techniques for seniors or individuals with special needs is beneficial
- Caregiving experience involving heavy lifting or physical assistance is a plus
- Valid driving licence essential
- Childcare experience can be an asset for supporting family members or younger clients
