Lecturer (Supported Internships)
Northumberland Skills Service [part of Northumberland County Council] is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (Supported Internships) who can make a real difference to the lives of young people across Northumberland.
We are looking for a passionate and enthusiastic individual who is committed to supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve positive outcomes, develop independence, and progress into sustainable employment. The successful candidate will have experience of teaching and supporting learners with additional needs and be dedicated to creating inclusive, engaging, and learner-centred learning experiences.
This is a permanent position, full time (term time plus 5 days in the school holidays) and is based at Alnwick Campus
Band 7 £30,550 - £33,776 (pro rata for Term Time)
The Role:

To deliver good or outstanding teaching and learning, using innovative methods including; e-learning and taking into account the needs of individual learners and support them to achieve their goals.

To plan for and deliver additional learning support, personalised learning, to adjust teaching strategies to deal with individual learner needs.

To implement assessment procedures that review and assess formative and summative progress of the learner

Conduct regular progress reviews with the learner and where appropriate with employers.

To prepare learners for examination or assessment.

To prepare for internal and external quality assurance, with attendance at associated standardisation meetings
We are looking for somone who:

Is passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) to achieve positive outcomes and sustainable employment.

Has experience of teaching and supporting learners with additional needs.

Is committed to creating inclusive, engaging, and learner-centred teaching and learning
-
Is able to build strong relationships with learners, families, employers and external agencies.

Is knowledge of EHCPs, safeguarding, tailored learning and support planning.

Is enthusiastic, adaptable, and able to motivate learners to develop independence and workplace skills.

Is committed to improving employment and Preparation for Adulthood (PfA) opportunities for young people with SEND.

Is a team player. who shares Northumberland Skills' values of inclusion, ambition, and learner success.
