Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Bar Manager to oversee the operations of Skippers. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for hospitality, and extensive experience within the food and beverage industry. This role involves managing daily bar activities, supervising staff, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and quality. The successful applicant will play a key role in creating a welcoming atmosphere while ensuring operational efficiency and profitability.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the bar team, ensuring smooth daily operations and exceptional service delivery
- Manage stock levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage in compliance with food safety regulations
- Develop and implement innovative drink menus, including cocktails, beers, wines, and non-alcoholic options
- Monitor staff performance, provide training, and foster a positive team environment
- Ensure compliance with health & safety standards, including food safety protocols and hygiene practices
- Handle customer enquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
- Organise shifts and delegate tasks effectively to optimise productivity during busy periods
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate food production and service times
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area in accordance with regulatory standards
Requirements
- Proven supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality environment
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff
- Extensive knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and culinary practices
- Experience in serving drinks professionally as a barista or bartender is advantageous
- Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices in food production
- Previous experience in hospitality management or hotel environments is desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Leadership qualities with a focus on delivering outstanding customer service
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced setting
- Relevant qualifications in hospitality or culinary arts are preferred
