R. Plevin & Sons is a UK market leader in wood recycling and the manufacture of animal bedding.
We are looking to recruit a Supervisor at our site based at Elkesley, Nr Retford DN22 8BT to supervise the wood recycling operation and associated activities.
This post will have day to day responsibilities for ensuring that production, quality, environmental and health & safety targets are met.
Main duties will include:
- Supervising a team of staff, coaching and mentoring staff to ensure of best performance.
- Organising and managing the daily production workload for the wood recycling team to ensure that customer demand is met.
- Ensuring the team follow the Safe Systems of Work and a positive health and safety culture is encouraged.
- Seeking continuous improvement, ensuring best practice is understood, shared and implemented.
- Carrying out investigations and implementing corrective action for customer complaints, non-conformances or accident / incidents or near misses.
- Carrying out environmental checks and interventions to ensure of compliance with the environmental work plan.
- Ensuring staffing levels and staff skills meet production requirements.
- Keeping accurate and up to date paperwork/ computer records.
- Regularly liaising with the Transport Department.
- Covering weighbridge duties in the absence of weighbridge operators.
The ideal candidates will be self-motivated, hardworking and comfortable working outdoors. Candidates will have a proactive approach to health and safety and will be keen to promote a positive health and safety culture.
Candidates must have proven supervisory experience and a health & safety qualification is desirable. e.g IOSH.
WAMITAB qualification is desirable. Candidates must also have administration and IT skills and it is preferable for candidates to be familiar with ISO quality standards.
Hours of Work:
Monday - Friday: 06:00 -16:00 hours
