We are seeking a fun, enthusiastic and compassionate Personal Care Assistant to provide support and assistance to a young adult with complex needs and our two other older children, both with basic needs, within our family home. The ideal candidate will assist with daily activities, personal care, and ensure the well-being of our family. A suitable candidate would also be someone who can communicate clearly and effectively in English with a young adult who is nonverbal. Ideally to live locally to the family home as the role does not offer accommodation or require overnight care.
**Duties:**
- Assist children with personal care tasks such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
- Follow care plans and provide companionship to children
- Help with housekeeping tasks and meal preparation
- Monitor and report changes in children's health status
- Provide emotional support and encouragement to children
**Skills:**
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with the whole family
- Good team working skills to work alongside another carer as part of a care team
- Familiarity with care plans and procedures in a family home care environment
- Proficiency in English to communicate clearly with the family
- Valid driver's license for transportation needs
