Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Head Barista to lead our railway coffee shop . The ideal candidate will possess a passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage daily operations efficiently. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee the preparation of high-quality beverages.
Duties
- Lead the barista team to deliver outstanding customer service
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other refreshments in accordance with established recipes and standards
- Oversee food safety and hygiene practices within the café environment
- Manage stock levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including light snacks or baked goods
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, equipment, and customer spaces to meet health regulations
- Provide training and mentorship to new staff members
- Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues promptly and professionally
- Manage cash register operations, including processing transactions accurately
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Barista with a strong understanding of coffee brewing techniques
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a café or food service environment (desirable)
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene
- Excellent serving skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
- Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions and stock management
- Strong organisational skills with effective time management abilities to handle busy periods efficiently
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Good communication skills and the ability to lead a team effectively
