Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chef de Partie to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with experience working in a busy restaurant environment. The position is predominantly daytime shifts as we do not do a regular dinner service, just occasional events in the evenings.
Duties
- Prepare and cook dishes according to the restaurant’s recipes and standards, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Oversee specific sections of the kitchen, such as grill, pastry, or sauté stations, managing the workflow efficiently.
- Assist in the development of new menu items and improve existing recipes.
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly adhered to at all times.
- Monitor stock levels within your section, report shortages, and assist with inventory management.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service during busy periods.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations before, during, and after service.
- Support junior kitchen staff through training and guidance as needed.
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a professional kitchen environment.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and meal preparation methods.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices for hygiene.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
- Good communication skills to collaborate effectively with team members.
- Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, along with serving experience in hospitality settings. This role requires a dedicated individual with a passion for culinary arts who thrives in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and high standards of quality.
