Yester Farm Dairies is a family operated artisan dairy producing a range of soft cheeses, cultured creams, soft cheeses, yoghurts all on the family farm. Family run, we are based in the beautiful East Lothian countryside close to the coast, Edinburgh and the Scottish Borders. Must live within the local area and have own means of transport.
Shift work 5 in 7 days 40 hours per week (might include some days to cover annual leave)
Job Purpose
To support the safe, efficient and compliant production, processing and packing of dairy products in accordance with company procedures, customer requirements, food safety legislation and BRCGS Food Safety Standards.
The role requires a strong focus on food safety, hygiene, quality, health and safety, traceability and teamwork at all times.
1. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the production, processing and packing of dairy products in accordance with documented procedures and product specifications.
- Operate production and packing equipment safely following appropriate training.
- Carry out a range of production duties as required, which may include filling, packing, sealing, labelling, weighing, portioning, shredding, dicing and product handling.
- Follow production schedules and instructions to ensure products are manufactured and packed efficiently and to the required standard.
- Monitor products during production and report any issues or deviations to the appropriate manager or supervisor.
- Ensure products are handled correctly throughout the production process to maintain quality and integrity.
- Work as part of a team to meet production targets while maintaining food safety and quality standards.
