Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Arborist to join our dynamic team dedicated to maintaining healthy, vibrant trees, woodlands, landscapes and forests. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing tree health, performing pruning, trimming, and removal tasks, and ensuring the safety and aesthetic appeal of woodlands, parklands, domestic and commercial tree stocks. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive tree assessments to evaluate health, stability, and safety.
- Perform pruning, trimming, cabling, bracing, and removal of trees using hand tools and power tools.
- Operate machinery such as chippers, excavators, quads and other forestry equipment safely and efficiently.
- Maintain trees’ structural integrity through proper pruning techniques aligned with arboricultural best practices.
- Use mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues and perform routine maintenance on tools like chainsaws, pole saws, and power drills.
- Collaborate with team members on construction projects involving tree planting or removal to ensure safety standards are met.
Requirements
- Proven experience in arboriculture and forestry with a focus on tree care.
- Mechanical knowledge related to operating power tools, excavators, and forestry systems.
- Familiarity with hand tools such as pruners, saws, axes, and loppers for precise tree work.
- Construction experience is a plus for understanding site preparation and safety protocols.
- Strong understanding of arboricultural principles to promote healthy tree growth.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining safety standards.
- Excellent teamwork skills with a proactive attitude toward learning new techniques in arboriculture.
