Swan Women's Centre is looking for friendly, compassionate and reliable Volunteer Receptionists to join our welcoming team.
For many women, walking through our doors can be the first step towards positive change. As a Volunteer Receptionist, you will help create a warm, supportive and non-judgemental environment where every woman feels valued, respected and welcomed.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience, develop new skills, build confidence and become part of a team that is making a real difference every day.
What will you be doing?
- Welcoming women and visitors to the centre
- Answering telephone calls and taking messages
- Providing information about our services
- Booking appointments using our database system
- Passing messages to staff and clients as required
- Monitoring and responding to emails, with guidance and support from staff.
- Assisting with general administrative tasks
- Maintaining confidentiality at all times when handling information
- Supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the reception area and helping to create a positive experience for everyone visiting the centre.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for people who are:
- Friendly and approachable
- Good listeners with excellent communication skills
- Reliable and trustworthy
- Comfortable using basic computer systems
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Passionate about supporting women and girls
No previous experience is necessary. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.

Time Commitment
We are flexible and welcome applications from people who can offer a few hours per week or more. Volunteer hours can be discussed to fit around your existing commitments.
