The Opportunity
We are looking for an experienced Forklift Operator to join our Blackpool team on a full time, permanent basis.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 07.00 – 15.30hrs
Working in our ‘Goods in’ Warehouse, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient handling of materials, supporting the smooth running of our production and supply chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate Pivot and Counterbalance Forklifts to unload deliveries and move goods safely
- Accurately check and record incoming stock against delivery notes
- Offload incoming deliveries and containers and accurately place materials within designated areas.
- Transport and store materials in correct warehouse locations
- Ensure the warehouse remains organised and compliant with Health & Safety standards
- Support general warehouse duties when required to meet business needs
- Perform basic maths calculations related to weights, measurements and inventory counts
- Carry out daily forklift checks and report any defects or maintenance issues promptly
- Follow all Health & Safety procedures, including safe lifting practices and site traffic rules
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors and other departments
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A valid Pivot (Bendi/Flexi) Forklift Truck licence (essential). Counterbalance licence advantageous.
- Previous experience operating forklifts within a warehouse, logistics or manufacturing environment.
- Experience unloading vehicles, containers and accurately storing stock
- Good knowledge of warehouse management systems and stock control procedures
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when checking deliveries and recording stock movements
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment
- The ability to carry out manual handling duties safely (be physically fit) and work in both indoor and outdoor environments when required.
- A proactive approach to health and safety, with a commitment to maintaining high housekeeping standards.
- A reliable, responsible and team focused approach to work.
Applicants must have previous forklift operating experience (minimum of 2 years) within a warehouse or manufacturing environment.
