Children’s Home Manager
Location: Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey.
Salary: £50,000-£65,000 per annum (dependent on experience) + performance bonus.
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to help with the setup, registration of a new children’s home and run the day-to-day operations of our residential children’s home, providing high-quality care and support to young people aged [insert age range]. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled professional to play a pivotal role in shaping the lives and futures of children and young people in care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide effective leadership and management of the home in line with Ofsted requirements, Children’s Homes Regulations, and Quality Standards.
- Help with safe recruitment of other members of staff.
- Ensure the delivery of safe, nurturing, and child-centred care.
- Lead, support, and develop a team of residential care staff, promoting a culture of professionalism, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Maintain compliance with safeguarding procedures and all relevant legislation.
- Manage budgets, resources, and administrative functions efficiently.
- Foster positive relationships with children, families, external professionals, and local authorities.
Requirements:
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
- Familiar with the registration process of a new children’s home with OFSTED.
- Proven experience as a Registered Manager within a residential children’s setting.
- In-depth knowledge of safeguarding, child protection, and regulatory frameworks.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Commitment to promoting the welfare and rights of children and young people.
