Deputy Manager – Care Services
Location: Millgate House and Outreach
Hours: Full-time – 37 hours per week
Salary: From £33,000 per annum, depending on experience
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, compassionate and motivated Deputy Manager to join our team at Millgate House and Outreach.
Working closely with the Registered Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day leadership of the service, helping us deliver safe, effective and person-centred care while supporting our staff to achieve the highest possible standards.

What You'll Be Doing
As Deputy Manager, you will:
- Provide day-to-day operational leadership across the service.
- Take responsibility as the senior manager on duty when required.
- Support recruitment, induction, supervision, appraisals and staff performance.
- Coach and develop staff, promoting a positive and supportive working culture.
- Help maintain compliance with CQC regulations, the Health and Social Care Act and relevant legislation.
- Support audits, quality assurance and continuous improvement.
- Oversee person-centred care planning, risk assessments and reviews.
- Promote independence, choice, dignity and meaningful engagement for the people we support.
- Ensure safeguarding concerns are recognised, reported and managed appropriately.
- Support safe medication practices, infection control and risk management.
- Assist with rotas, staffing levels and the smooth running of daily operations.
- Build positive relationships with families, professionals and external agencies.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has experience in a senior care position, such as Senior Carer, Team Leader or Deputy Manager.
- Has a strong understanding of CQC regulations and quality standards.
- Holds an NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care.
- Has excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Can confidently manage and support staff and make safe, informed decisions.
- Has strong written skills and can produce clear, accurate and compliant documentation.
- Is committed to safeguarding, dignity and person-centred care.
- Is compassionate, accountable and able to remain effective under pressure.
A Level 5 qualification in Health & Social Care is desirable, or you should be willing to work towards one.
Experience in care home management, medication management, infection control, risk assessment and working with local authorities or multidisciplinary teams would also be advantageous.
