Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Power Generation - Hire and Service Manager to oversee the hiring, maintenance, and servicing of power generation equipment. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational skills, mechanical knowledge, and the ability to manage a team effectively. Duties
- Oversee the hiring process for power generation equipment and personnel, ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Coordinate and supervise service activities, including installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs of power generation units.
- Utilise mechanical knowledge to diagnose issues with equipment and determine appropriate solutions.
- Manage scheduling of service appointments and ensure timely delivery of services to clients.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment using hand tools and power tools to identify potential faults or maintenance needs.
- Maintain detailed records of service activities, repairs, and equipment status for reporting purposes.
- Lead a team of technicians, providing guidance, training, and support to optimise performance.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety standards, promoting a safe working environment for staff and clients alike.
- Liaise with clients to understand their requirements and provide expert advice on equipment selection and servicing options.
- Manage inventory levels of spare parts and tools necessary for efficient operation.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in power generation or related engineering fields.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with practical experience in using hand tools and power tools.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Leadership qualities with previous experience supervising technical teams preferred.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in mechanical engineering or power systems are desirable.
- A valid driving licence is preferred due to the travel requirements associated with the role.
