Doncaster Sheffield Airport is preparing to relaunch, in preparation for this we are seeking to appoint an Operational Support Co-ordinator to be part of new and exciting team who will be pivotal in helping the airport to open and grow.
You will be involved in helping to shape Doncaster Sheffield Airport’s development into a UK and international airport. The team will work with cutting-edge systems in a newly upgraded control tower and radar environment.

About the Role
The Operational Support Co-ordinator plays a pivotal role in supporting and maintaining the ANSP management systems including Safety, Compliance, Quality, Security and Change Management, to ensure that the organisation’s compliance with the regulations is maintained. You will support the ATS Safety and Compliance Manager and the unit in delivery and monitoring of the ANSP compliance requirements including document control and audits. In addition to the requirements detailed above, the Operational Support Co-ordinator will need to be a qualified Air Traffic Services Assistant (ATSA) and satisfy all of the requirements of the ATSA role.
Key responsibilities include:
- Document control for ATC – including management of ATC Master Record Index, maintaining document version control and overall currency of documents in accordance with the Quality Management System.
- Maintaining ATC Compliance matrices
- Supporting the Safety and Compliance Manager with internal and external audits.
- Process Operation – publication and maintenance of unit instructions
- Reporting and other administration requirements for the ATS unit - The reporting requirement will include performance reporting, capacity management, regulatory reporting requirements and business reporting requirements.
All duties associated with ATSA responsibilities, ATSA Core responsibilities and duties will include:
- Act as the first point of contact for all Air Traffic Services operations. Liaise on a day-to-day basis with the airports Air Traffic Controllers and Air Traffic Service Unit at adjacent aerodromes to ensure up to date and accurate information relating to air operations is collected and shared enabling the smooth running of air traffic operations.
- Maintain and update live flight information and aircraft movements ensuring flight progress is checked amending flight plans flight plans to ensure Air Traffic Controllers have up to date and accurate information to ensure the safe and efficient movement of aircraft within airspace and on the ground.
- Use a variety of different air traffic control systems and equipment inputting accurate information into the systems and editing information as requested working with air traffic control officers and engineers to ensure smooth operations across the team.
- Gather and disseminate accurate and up to date weather information to air traffic controllers and pilots helping to ensure safe flight operations.
- Assist in the coordination of emergency procedures in the event of an incident, reporting information to internal departments and external authorities. Providing accurate and timely information and support to Air Traffic Controllers during the emergency.
- Maintain systems and documentation related to air traffic operations ensuring relevant parties are updated on anything which may affect our airspace and boundaries. Check to ensure all information supplied is accurate before briefing colleagues and inputting onto the system.
The successful Candidate:
The successful candidate will have recent experience as an Air Traffic Services Assistant or have appropriate experience in a Safety and Compliance role.
You will have a passion for aviation and a desire to be part of and help develop the Air Traffic Control team. Strong communication skills are essential with ability to make decisions and multitask in a challenging and rewarding environment.
