Keith Gotts is a well-established independent garage specialising exclusively in Land Rover and Range Rover vehicles. We have built our reputation on delivering exceptional customer service and high-quality workmanship. We are looking for an organised, customer-focused and proactive Service Manager / Receptionist to become a key member of our team.
This is a varied role that combines front-of-house customer service with the day-to-day management of our busy service department. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring our workshop operates efficiently while delivering an excellent experience for every customer.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and provide a professional, friendly first point of contact.
- Book vehicles in for servicing, repairs and MOTs.
- Prepare quotations and advise customers on recommended repairs and completed work.
- Keep customers updated on the progress of their vehicles and communicate any additional work required.
- Answer telephone and email enquiries promptly and professionally.
- Allocate work to workshop technicians and assist with the daily scheduling of jobs.
- Oversee the day-to-day running of the service department.
- Lead and support the workshop and service office teams.
- Conduct staff performance reviews and authorise annual leave.
- Monitor and promote Health & Safety within the workshop.
- Ensure all work is completed to customer expectations and company standards.
- Coordinate the cleaning and preparation of customer vehicles before collection.
- Manage customer service and MOT reminder systems.
- Process customer payments and complete general administration duties.
- Place orders with suppliers and process incoming deliveries.
- Assist with diagnosing faults on Land Rover and Range Rover vehicles where appropriate.
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has previous experience in a Service Advisor, Service Manager or automotive reception role.
- Has excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Is highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities.
- Can confidently lead and motivate a team.
- Has strong administration and computer skills.
- Works well under pressure in a busy workshop environment.
- Has knowledge of Land Rover and Range Rover vehicles (preferred but not essential for the right candidate).
- Holds a full UK driving licence.
