The Role
To contribute to the professional development and on-going assessment of trainee, post-qualified and qualified conductors through instructing, coaching and supporting in a range of activities as determined by the business/latest Industry standards, in conjunction with conductor resource plan. The position also includes all duties associated with the normal role of a conductor.
Role responsibilities
Instructing and coaching trainee conductors/new entrants to the business during elements of the Conductor training programme
Assess and measure the performance of new conductors within their job competency during the first six months of post qualifying period, providing effective coaching as necessary
Support the Conductor Management team with both safety critical and capability assessments for the wider conductor population, providing coaching as necessary, as and when required by senior management
Evaluate the progress of trainee conductors, ensuring any development needs in training and knowledge gaps are identified.
Play a key role in developing engagement and greater participation in promoting improvements within the conductor function
Who we're looking for
Demonstratable experience of wide experience and credibility in the role of conductor and be able to command the respect of their peers
Be prepared to work towards coaching assessor awards and presentation skills certificate
Possess an excellent track record in the conductor role with a good customer service and safety of the line record
Demonstrates sound employee qualities such as reliability, motivation, punctuality and be of a smart appearance
Promotes excellence in job performance
Welsh Language Skills
While not essential for this role, Welsh language skills would make a great addition to your application.
