On behalf of The Home Office, we are looking for Maritime Engineering Technical Superintendent's x3 (Inside IR35) for 6 month contract's based onsite so requires 5 days a week at Portchester, murrills industrial estate, please note these roles may also require occasional overnight stays and ad hoc travel to docks and marine sites, expenses will be paid

CTC Clearance is an essential requirement for this role, as a minimum you must be eligible and willing to undergo these checks. Please note, due to the exceptional requirements of this position (short-term nature of this role and speed at which we require a postholder in situ) preference may be given to candidates who meet all of the essential criteria and hold active security clearance.
As a Maritime Engineering Technical Superintendents, your main responsibilities will be:
- Provide an overview of vessel operational performance and forward look of vessel maintenance planning, escalating issues to senior managers and presenting solutions.
- Provide technical direction to maintain overall compliance within statuary Class and Flag State rules, rectify defects and identify fleet wide performance issues and continuous improvements across all platforms.
- Keeping abreast of Regulatory Code changes and evaluate their impact, liaising with operators' superintendents regarding compliance issues as appropriate. To include informing other SEO’s of their responsibilities as Commanders of these vessels.
- Single point of contact for all Vessel Managers (Commanders/Chief Engineers/OiC’s) across platforms to monitor vessel usage and machinery servicing requirements both planned and unplanned.
- Directing and advising Chief Engineers on appropriate action to take when vessels encounter issues, using expert knowledge to identify likely causes and advise on any investigative work.
- Responsible for maximising vessel availability by managing monitoring and advising on vessel usage.
- Liaise with and manage relationships with suppliers, including the delivery of work which meets HO Commercial compliancy rules for all planned, unplanned maintenance and defect rectification works across platforms.
- Oversee drafting of technical requirements and specification for inclusion into contracts of the annual maintenance periods of all platforms
- Apply technical expertise acquired through experience and training to identify remedies to issues which Chief Engineers on vessels have been unable to solve.
Essential Skills
- Knowledge of working in an engineering capacity, with or on maritime vessels (ideally different vessels)
- Strong experience and working knowledge of Class, Flag, IMO, SOLAS, MARPOL, the ISM Code and ISO requirements
- Experience of undertaking project management
- Experience in procurement processes.
- Maritime engineering knowledge of patrol vessels up to 50 m
- Strong Management and Leadership experience and experience supporting and developing engineering teams
Qualifications
- Any marine/maritime engineering qual, can include the following: STCW, Certificate of competency, or holds a degree in marine/maritime engineering
