We are recruiting a Used Equipment Salesperson in the North of England, who will play a critical role in driving revenue growth across HCMUK's used machinery portfolio!

Responsibilities:
- Sell used construction machinery to new and existing customers.
- Proactively generate new business through strategic prospecting, networking, and relationship building.
- Manage the full sales cycle from enquiry to negotiation and closure.
- Deliver against monthly and annual sales targets.
- Promote additional services such as warranties, finance options, and machine attachments.
- Build and maintain strong, long‑term partnerships with customers across construction, plant hire, and related sectors.
- Provide expert product knowledge to guide customers toward the most suitable equipment solutions.
- Deliver a first‑class customer experience, ensuring trust, satisfaction, and repeat business.
- Raise customer orders accurately and in line with internal processes.
- Maintain up‑to‑date understanding of the used equipment market, including pricing, demand shifts, and competitor activity.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure stock availability, accurate listings, and competitive positioning.
- Represent HCMUK at exhibitions, trade shows and other relevant events.
- Prepare reports on sales activity, customer feedback and market trends.
- Inspect used equipment on customers’ sites and at HCMUK depots to assess condition, identify required repairs, and support accurate valuations.
- Ensure all sales are completed in accordance with company policies, compliance standards, and ethical practices.
- Produce accurate documentation, reports, and forecasts using CRM systems and internal tools.
- Work closely with internal teams to coordinate inspections and deliveries.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Essential
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade C/4 or above.
- A minimum of 2 years’ proven experience in a similar role.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Confident IT user with solid working knowledge of MS Office applications.
- Excellent time‑management skills with the ability to plan ahead, prioritise effectively, and stay organised in a fast‑paced environment.
- Able to adapt to change and work in line with internal and external processes.
- Comfortable working under pressure, with the ability to think quickly and resolve issues as they arise.
- A positive, proactive “can‑do/will‑do”
- Professional, courteous, and confident when representing the business.
- Keeps colleagues informed on progress and updates relating to key tasks and responsibilities.
Preferred
- Experience of working in the manufacturing or similar industry.
- A recognised sales qualification or willingness to work towards one.
