The Annex Tapas Bar and Restaurant, The Malthouse & The Yard Bar are seeking a Sous Chef/ Line chef as we enter the next stage of our development and expansion. You will need to be able to perform in a busy restaurant & bar in Tavistock.
Overview
We are seeking a talented and passionate Sous Chef /Line chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our team of chefs in managing kitchen operations, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and safety. This position requires a strong background in food preparation and production, along with excellent leadership and team management skills. Responsibilities
- Assist the other Chefs in overseeing daily kitchen operations and managing staff.
- Prepare and cook high-quality dishes in accordance with the restaurant's menu.
- Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen.
- Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new recipes and menu items.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
- Train new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety protocols.
- Maintain a positive working environment that encourages teamwork and creativity.
Skills
- Proven experience as a cook or chef in a restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and regulations.
- Excellent hospitality skills with a focus on customer satisfaction.
- Demonstrated ability in team management, fostering collaboration among staff.
