We are seeking a motivated and organised Assistant to join our Community Centre team!
The Leigh Park Centre is the community centre in the heart of Leigh Park and we are dedicated to fostering a vibrant and inclusive community. We aim to provide a range of activities, classes and events that benefit and enhance the well-being of our residents – making life better for everyone. As we continue to grow and develop our services, we are looking for an enthusiastic Centre Assistant to play a key role in supporting our community and this community centre.
Responsibilities:
Advocacy: Be customer facing, welcoming and attentive to all centre users.
Communication: Respond to enquiries, emails, and phone calls professionally and promptly.
Record Keeping: Manage and maintain accurate records, databases and filing systems.
Event Support: Assist in coordinating community events and programs.
Collaboration: Support various teams within the community centre.
Preferred Requirements:
- A belief in the power of community
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A positive and professional demeanour
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills
- Confident working alone, some degree of cash handling
- Happy to undertake some kitchen duties – barista machine and serving of pre-made items (full training given)
- Happy to undertake light cleaning duties and general help around the Centre as needed
- Ability to use a database, proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer applications (full training can be given)
Ideal Candidate:
We can provide training around databases, record keeping and kitchen procedures and will be happy to do so. What we can’t magic is a willingness to contribute to the Leigh Park community and help us provide a dynamic, relevant, and useful place for all residents. A knowledge of the local area would be an asset.
