Vulcan Interior & Fire Solutions Ltd is a leading passive fire protection contractor specialising in fire door installation, maintenance and remedial works across the UK.
Due to continued growth, we are looking for experienced Fire Door Joiners to join our expanding team on a self-employed (CIS) basis.
The role is primarily based around the Nottinghamshire area, although regular travel and working away across the UK will be required.
The Role
As a Fire Door Joiner, you will be responsible for carrying out high-quality fire door installation and remedial works on a variety of residential, student accommodation, and commercial.
All work is completed in accordance with current fire safety legislation, third-party accreditation requirements and our internal quality assurance procedures – BM Trada and IFC accredited.
Responsibilities
- Installation of FD30 and FD60 fire door sets.
- Fire door maintenance and remedial works.
- Replacing door leaves, frames and ironmongery.
- Installation of intumescent and smoke seals.
- Adjusting doors to achieve compliant gaps and tolerances.
- Completing work to a high standard with attention to detail.
- Recording completed works using our digital QA system (OneTrace).
- Working safely and professionally within occupied buildings.
Essential Requirements
- Proven joinery experience.
- CSCS Card
- NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Joinery.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Own transport.
- Own hand tools.
- Excellent workmanship and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel and stay away from home during the working week when required.
Desirable
- Previous fire door installation or remedial experience.
- Knowledge of passive fire protection.
