Job Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Trainee Dental Nurse at our friendly family run dental practice based in Silsden & Keighley, West Yorkshire. This paid internship offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a busy dental practice, develop essential nursing skills, and learn about patient care in a supportive environment. The position will require you to work over both practices when suits the business and attend Bradford College when required.
Duties
- Assist dentists during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring smooth and efficient appointments
- Prepare treatment rooms with the necessary instruments and materials before procedures
- Support patients by providing reassurance, explaining procedures, and ensuring their comfort throughout visits
- Maintain high standards of infection control and sterilization of dental instruments and equipment
- Manage patient records accurately using IT systems, ensuring confidentiality and organization
- Learn how to provide excellent communication to patients, answering questions and offering guidance on oral health care
- Support administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, patient check-in, and maintaining clinic cleanliness
Qualifications
- Strong interest in patient care and healthcare professions, with a desire to pursue a career in dental nursing or related field
- Excellent communication skills to connect with diverse patients and team members
- Strong organizational skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
