Tired of weekend rotas? This one's Monday to Friday — every weekend off, for good.
Castleview Cars is a fast-growing used car dealership in Windsor, around 120 cars in stock and roughly 50 sales a month. We use modern tools and technology and we aim to be the best in our field — so we hire the best. We're looking for a sharp, hands-on Vehicle Inspection Technician to be the expert eye on every car before it goes out for sale.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
You're the quality gate. Every car arriving from auction or part-exchange comes to you first.
- Inspect each vehicle and judge its true condition — listening to the engine, picking up on tell-tale smells, and test-driving it yourself.
- Run basic diagnostics to pin down faults and work out exactly what parts are needed.
- Source those parts economically, with an eye on cost and quality.
- Write a clear, honest inspection report for each car so the team knows precisely what they're selling.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Skill is the baseline here — but attitude is what makes someone thrive. We want a "want-to, can-do" person: genuinely motivated, takes ownership, spots what needs doing without being asked, and brings positive energy to a small, busy team. If you care about getting it right and enjoy being the person others trust on condition, you'll fit straight in.
MUST-HAVES
- A full UK driving licence — you'll be test-driving stock every day.
- Solid hands-on mechanical knowledge and the confidence to diagnose faults on your own.
- The ability to write a clear, accurate inspection report.
NICE TO HAVE (not essential — we'll develop the right person)
- A vehicle-maintenance qualification (NVQ / City & Guilds / IMI) or an MOT tester ticket.
- Experience with diagnostic tools (OBD readers and the like).
- Parts-sourcing know-how, supplier contacts and cost awareness.
- A background in a dealership, workshop, garage, fast-fit or auction setting.
No formal qualification? If you've got the hands-on ability and the right attitude, we'd still like to hear from you — this role is experience-led and we're happy to develop the right person.
