Join Us as Our General Manager
Are you a confident leader with a passion for community spaces, outdoor leisure, and great customer experiences? Our much‑loved charitable open‑air swimming pool and café is looking for a General Manager to oversee daily operations, lead our teams, and ensure our facilities remain safe, welcoming, and thriving.
This is a hands‑on role at the heart of a vibrant community asset and at a gorgeous location in the Bristol Channel. You’ll manage staff, maintain technical systems, and help shape the future of a unique local venue.
What You’ll Be Doing
Leading and supporting the pool and café teams, including pool duty managers, lifeguards, café staff, and volunteers.
Overseeing facility and plant room equipment and carry out or organise basic maintenance tasks.
Ensuring the site meets all health & safety, safeguarding, and compliance standards.
Delivering excellent customer service and a welcoming environment for all visitors.
Managing budgets, rotas, suppliers, and reporting to trustees
Supporting community events, outreach activities, and seasonal programmes.
What We’re Looking For
Experience in leisure, hospitality, visitor attractions, or facilities management.
Strong team leadership skills and confidence managing diverse staff groups.
Practical aptitude for technical systems, maintenance, or plant equipment.
A proactive, organised approach with excellent communication skills.
Commitment to community service, inclusivity, and charitable values.
Desirable:
Pool Plant Operator qualification (or willingness to obtain required certificates).
Experience with boilers or heating systems.
First Aid and/or NPLQ (or willingness to obtain required certificates).
Food hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain required certificates).
What We Offer
£35,000–£42,000 depending on experience.
Contract type and hours — Full-time, 40 hours per week including commitment to regular weekend working
Holiday entitlement — Statutory paid holiday entitlement – pro rata in line with UK law for regular fixed hours and aligned with pool seasons.
Pension — Statutory enrolment and entitlement
Enhanced DBS check as required,
