Nursery Practitioners
Required from summer 2026
Full time, part time and bank roles available. All year round.
St Swithun's is delighted to be opening a nursery alongside our existing preschool, and we are looking to build an exceptional team to join us on this exciting journey.
We are seeking enthusiastic individuals at various stages of their early years careers, from those just beginning their professional journey through to experienced practitioners looking to develop their skills within a high-quality setting.
About St Swithun's Nursery and Preschool
St Swithun's Nursery and Preschool offers a nurturing early years environment where children are given the very best start to their educational journey. Caring for children from 9 months to 4 years, including a preschool for the three terms before Reception, we provide a calm and happy foundation where children feel safe, valued and ready to learn.
We believe young children learn best when they are actively engaged with the world around them. Outdoor learning is an important part of nursery life, with opportunities to learn, explore and discover both inside and beyond the classroom. From our dedicated outdoor spaces to the unique Explorers' Cabin, we help children take their first steps towards lighting their own way.
About the role
As a Nursery Practitioner, you will help create an environment where children are encouraged to explore and develop a lifelong love of learning. As part of a new provision, this is a unique opportunity to help shape the nursery from the outset and contribute to a community where children, families and colleagues feel welcomed and supported.
The nursery will operate 50 weeks of the year, opening Monday to Friday from 7.30am to 6.00pm.
We are keen to hear from candidates seeking a variety of working arrangements and welcome applications for full-time, part-time and bank positions.
Salary: £27,000–£35,000 FTE, depending on qualifications, experience and responsibilities.
