Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Pot Wash / Kitchen Cleaner to join our busy kitchen team. This role involves maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards within the kitchen environment, ensuring all dishes, pots, and utensils are thoroughly cleaned and ready for use. The ideal candidate will contribute to a smooth-running kitchen operation, supporting food preparation and service activities. Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in a professional kitchen environment.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently wash pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment using appropriate cleaning methods
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen area
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as required
- Support the cleaning of work surfaces, floors, and storage areas to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Dispose of waste materials responsibly and ensure recycling procedures are followed
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy service periods
- Follow all hygiene protocols and safety guidelines at all times
Requirements
- Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or hospitality is desirable but not mandatory
- Knowledge of kitchen safety and hygiene standards is beneficial
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment under supervision
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary operations and cleaning procedures
