Club Manager – Muir of Ord Golf Club
Salary: £37,000 per annum
Location: Muir of Ord Golf Club, Highland
Muir of Ord Golf Club is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and people-focused Club Manager to lead the day-to-day operation of the club and help us continue to develop and improve the member and visitor experience.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong knowledge and passion for golf, combined with excellent staff management, organisation and leadership skills.
The Role
As Club Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth and effective running of the club, working closely with the committee, members, staff and visitors.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the club operates to a consistently high standard, with particular responsibility for golf operations, staff management, invoicing, payroll and the overall member experience.
Catering is leased to an external operator, allowing the Club Manager to focus primarily on the golf operation, clubhouse management and people.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day management and operation of the golf club.
- Manage, support and motivate club staff, including recruitment, rotas, training and performance.
- Ensure an excellent experience for members, visitors and societies.
- Have a strong understanding of golf club operations and the ability to manage tee times, competitions, opens and other golfing activities.
- Work closely with the club's committees and provide regular operational updates.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of the club's golfing calendar.
- Maintain high standards across the clubhouse, course facilities and wider club operation.
- Manage bookings, enquiries and relationships with visiting golfers, societies, sponsors and other groups.
- Help develop membership, visitor income and other opportunities to grow the club.
- Ensure appropriate health and safety, licensing and operational procedures are followed.
- Manage suppliers, contractors and external service providers where required.
- Monitor budgets and day-to-day expenditure, working with the club's committee.
- Represent Muir of Ord Golf Club professionally and positively within the local community and wider golfing environment.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has a genuine passion for golf and a good understanding of golf club operations.
- Has proven experience managing and leading staff.
- Is confident dealing with members, visitors, committees and the public.
- Is organised, approachable and able to work independently.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Can manage competing priorities and remain calm under pressure.
- Has a commercial outlook and an interest in developing the club.
- Has strong IT and administrative skills.
- Ideally has previous experience working in a golf club, sports club, hospitality or similar management environment.
