Are you caring, confident and ready to make a real difference? We’re looking for Female Support Workers to join a small, dedicated team in Portland, Dorset, supporting an individual who lives at home with their family. They have complex clinical needs, autism, epilepsy, a communication disorder and behaviours that may be perceived as challenging — but what truly defines them is their personality, their energy, and the joy they find in their favourite activities.
This is someone who LOVES being out and about. Think swimming sessions, trampolining adventures, browsing local shops, exploring funfairs, and visiting churches. They thrive on structure, routine, and familiar faces — which is why your consistency and reliability matter so much. To help them enjoy these outings safely, you’ll need to know the local area and hold a full UK driving licence.
Your role is all about helping this individual live a life that feels safe, comfortable, and full of meaningful moments. A typical shift might include:

Providing 2:1 support — offering attentive, person‑centred care

Creating meaningful activities — both at home and out in the community

Encouraging social interaction — building confidence and emotional wellbeing

Supporting communication — using the methods that work best for them

Helping with household tasks — keeping their environment calm, organised and reassuring
