Swietelsky UK, a leader in railway engineering, are looking for competent OTM Driver Operators to join the team, to help keep the rail infrastructure safe, resiliant and efficient. SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS
1. Operate and/or drive OTM for which certification of competency and MEP008 standards have been obtained.
2. Carry out daily and weekly maintenance of machines.
3. Utilise all IT equipment provided to complete and return all associated paperwork including Phires/DWR forms, completion of logbooks and access apps associated with your role.
4. Attain and retain required competency stipulated by ROGS (The Railways and Other Guided Transport Systems (Safety) Regulations 2006) and other applicable standards.
5. When undertaking machine-based duties you are responsible for the overall machine condition including documentation, consumables, safety equipment, waste disposal and your PPE.
6. To liaise and respond to requests from operations/driving standards manager.
7. Advise Control of all deviation to the planned shift e.g. planned volume is not achieved, plant performance, crewing, non-provisions of pilot-men, etc.
8. Travel and lodge in line with role requirements as directed by line manager.
9. Willingness to learn to operate a wide variety of machines as per the needs of the business.
10. Maintain agreed route card using the equipment provided and learn new routes as directed by your line manager.
PERSONAL SPECIFICATION
1. KNOWLEDGE
· Holder of European train driving license.
· Holder of full UK driving license.
· Excellent knowledge of Drivers Rules and Regulations.
· Route competency with a complete route card.
· Good knowledge of OTM operations.
2. SKILLS / ABILITIES
· Personal Track Safety, Designated Person and the ability to meet the Drivers Medical Standard are essential. Others agreed to meet the requirements of the post.
· Willingness to partake in further training.
· Good interpersonal skills.
· IT skills including outlook, excel, word, and pdf.
· Good communication skills.
· Self-motivated and ability to work with little supervision.
· Personable with the ability to develop effective working relationships.
3. EXPERIENCE
· A minimum of 2 years’ experience as an OTM Driver Operator.
