We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Poultry Worker to join our client on full time temp to perm basis near Oswestry. Due to rural location of our client, own transport is required
The ideal candidate will be responsible for various tasks related to the care and management of poultry including packing and farm cleaning . This role requires a strong work ethic, the ability to perform heavy lifting, and a willingness to work in a dynamic environment s part of a small team. Candidates should possess previous livestock, farming or animal welfare experience .
Pay
- £13.00 per hour, paid weekly
Hours/ Days
- 8am to 5 pm- 5 days out of 7 (including some weekend work on a rota)
Responsibilities
- Care for poultry by ensuring they are fed, watered, and housed properly.
- Monitor the health and wellbeing of the birds, identifying any signs of illness or distress.
- Operate and maintain equipment used in poultry farming, including hand tools and power tools.
- Carry out heavy lifting tasks related to feed, bedding, and other materials.
- Maintain cleanliness in the work area to promote hygiene and safety standards.
- Record basic data related to animal care and farm operations using basic maths skills.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in animal care , or live stock farming
- NVQ or diploma in animal care / welfare
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely and efficiently.
- A strong commitment to animal welfare and farm safety practices.
- Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Own reliable transport
