Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Telehandler Operator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating telehandlers to safely and efficiently move materials around construction sites or industrial environments. This role requires a strong understanding of machinery operation, safety protocols, and the ability to work in a dynamic setting. The position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in commercial driving and mechanical systems to contribute to a busy project site.
Responsibilities
- Operate telehandlers to lift, move, and position materials with precision and safety.
- Conduct routine inspections of the equipment to ensure it is in good working order.
- Assist with loading and unloading lorries, ensuring materials are handled correctly.
- Coordinate with site managers and other team members to ensure smooth workflow.
- Maintain accurate records of material movements and equipment usage.
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Support with the maintenance and minor repairs of machinery as required, utilising mechanical knowledge.
Skills
- Proven experience operating telehandlers in a commercial or industrial environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues and perform basic maintenance.
- Experience operating excavators is advantageous but not essential.
- Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving duties.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively within a team and follow safety protocols diligently.
- Good communication skills to liaise with colleagues and site supervisors effectively. Pay: £19.00-£20.00 per hour
