Main Purpose:
The QA Assistant will assist the Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager in the administration of the Company’s Quality Assurance policies, procedures and programs, process improvements and meeting all regulatory requirements.
Working closely with the Food Safety and QA Manager, suppliers, customers, audit bodies and relevant Tom Walker & Sons personnel, the QA Assistant will support the Food Safety and QA Manager in ensuring that all requirements are met to provide safe, superior quality food products.
The QA Assistant will play their part in process improvement; provide support and coordination of quality system improvements; perform special projects as identified from time to time by the needs of the business.
Responsibility:
- Their part in upkeep, audit and review of the existing quality system and HACCP system.
- In conjunction with the Food Safety and QA Manager, their part in upkeep, audit and review of customer, supplier and internal product specifications.
- Their part in the completion and administration of Internal and GMP Audits
- Assist as required the company technical contact for customers, suppliers and audit bodies.
- Assist in internal audits, scheduling, corrective actions, audit team and, where necessary, HACCP team and Food Defence team meetings and documentation.
- In conjunction with the Food Safety and QA Manager, responsible for the control of all documents within the quality system and their issue, as well as document control for all documents used in the general operation to form quality records.
- In conjunction with the Food Safety and QA Manager, monitors compliance with sanitation and hygiene operating procedures and for all aspects of factory environment standards.
- In conjunction with the rest of the Technical & QA Team, shelf life sampling, micro testing and environmental swabbing regime planning, operation and review.
- In conjunction with the Food Safety and QA Manager, investigates, replies to and monitors corrective action on customer complaints.
- In conjunction with the Food Safety and QA Manager and the HR Manager, identification of training needs, planning of training and, where applicable, providing in house training.
- Their part of supplier approval, assessment, performance monitoring and review.
- Generation of Quality, KPI and other performance reports as necessary.
- Maintaining an overview of In Process checks of pack, label and product quality, presentation and legality.
- In conjunction with the Technical & QA Team, the completion of product panels and reviews
- Operational involvement with all aspects of the company as dictated by the needs of the business.
Work Location:
On-site, 5 days per week.
Pay: £29,000.00-£31,000.00 per year
