Essential Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (C+E) Licence.
- Must have held your HGV Class 1 licence for a minimum of 2 years (insurance requirement).
- Previous experience driving container vehicles is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of driver hours regulations, road safety legislation, and transport compliance.
- Good geographical knowledge of Scotland and surrounding transport routes.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- Professional, reliable, and committed to delivering exceptional customer service.
- Clean driving record preferred.
About the Role
We are looking for a professional and reliable HGV Class 1 Container Driver to join our growing logistics operation.
Working Monday to Friday on day shifts, you will be responsible for transporting containers from Mossend Railhead and/or Teesport Dock to Regional Distribution Centres (RDCs) throughout Central Scotland.
This role is ideal for an experienced driver who takes pride in operating safely, delivering excellent service, and maintaining high professional standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesDriving & Deliveries
- Safely operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle transporting containers to designated delivery locations.
- Complete deliveries and collections efficiently while adhering to all road traffic legislation and company procedures.
- Ensure deliveries are completed on time and in line with customer expectations.
- Plan routes effectively and communicate any delays or issues promptly.
Vehicle & Load Management
- Conduct thorough pre-use and post-use vehicle inspections.
- Ensure containers and loads are transported safely and securely.
- Report any vehicle defects or operational issues immediately.
- Maintain the vehicle in a clean and roadworthy condition.
Compliance & Administration
- Accurately complete delivery documentation, driver records, and transport paperwork.
- Comply with all driver hours regulations, Working Time Directive requirements, and company policies.
- Follow all health and safety procedures while on customer sites and company premises.
Customer Service
- Represent the company professionally at all times.
- Communicate effectively with customers, transport planners, and colleagues.
- Deliver a high standard of customer service during all collections and deliveries.
About You

- Have proven experience in commercial HGV driving.

- Demonstrate excellent awareness of road safety and transport legislation.

- Be comfortable with occasional overnight stays away from home.
