· Caring and supporting clients in a person-centred one-to-one care and support to meet individual clients’ needs in the comfort of their homes.
· Assisting clients with all activities of daily living including meal preparation (food and drink), hygiene, cleaning, shopping, bathing, showering, dressing, hair, aided walking, toileting, other personal cares.
· Treating clients with the care you would personally desire if you were in their situation – very possible you could be one day.
· Enabling clients to enjoy a quality of life, valuing, promoting, and maintaining own - independence to the best of their abilities.
· Building companionship with clients, which is key to trusted relationships with clients.
· Initiating quality time for clients to share their memories with you as per their choice.
· Assisting with prompting medication as appropriate.
· Demonstrating care and compassion, making clients feel better whether they need hourly, daily, or weekly assistance due to age, illness, life changing condition, recovery or rehabilitation.
