Cambridge Gun Club is a well-established local club set in beautiful countryside surroundings. We are looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Weekend Cook to join our small, friendly team and play a key role in supporting our busy café.
This role is primarily kitchen-based and would suit someone who enjoys cooking, working at pace, and producing consistent, good-quality food in a welcoming café environment.
The Role
You will take responsibility for the preparation and service of our café food, particularly during busy breakfast and lunchtime periods. Duties will include:
- Preparing and cooking breakfasts, sandwiches, and baps
- Supporting menu service during peak times
- Maintaining kitchen cleanliness and food hygiene standards
- Stock control and basic food ordering
- Assisting with customer orders and café service when required
- Preparing hot drinks, including barista-style coffees (secondary to cooking duties)
Previous cooking experience is preferred; however, full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Working Hours
- Saturday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
- Sunday: 8:30am – 3:00pm
- Pay: Competitive, depending on experience
- Some flexibility with hours may be available

Requirements
- Own transport is essential due to the rural location (no public transport available)
- Knowledge of food hygiene regulations is desirable (Food Hygiene training and certification will be provided)
Interviews
Interviews will be held in person and will be relaxed and informal, lasting approximately 30 minutes, including a short tour of the café.
