Deputy Manager – DeLuca’s Liverpool
Location: DeLuca’s, Concert Square, Liverpool
Salary: £35,000–£38,000 per year, depending on experience
Experience: Minimum 2 years’ management experience
Focus: Sales, late-night operations, events & team leadership
We’re looking for a confident, commercially driven Deputy Manager to join the management team at DeLuca’s.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable leading a busy venue, driving sales and creating a great atmosphere. You’ll need to be equally confident behind the bar, on the floor with customers, leading a team and managing the operational side of the business.
What we’re looking for
You’ll have:
- At least 2 years’ management experience within hospitality at any management level
- A strong sales-focused mindset and confidence driving revenue
- Experience working within a busy bar, nightclub, restaurant or late-night venue
- Confidence leading shifts and managing teams
- Strong customer-facing skills and the personality to engage with guests
- Confidence behind the bar and a good understanding of bar operations
- Experience with cash handling, cashing up and end-of-night procedures
- Experience locking up and taking responsibility for a venue
- An understanding of stock control, stock counts and managing wastage
- The ability and willingness to work late nights and weekends
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to hold people accountable
- A proactive attitude — someone who sees opportunities rather than waiting to be told what to do
Sales & Events
A major part of this role will be helping us grow sales and deliver our events and marketing activity.
You’ll work with the wider management and marketing teams to:
- Drive daily and weekly sales
- Deliver venue events, promotions and campaigns
- Encourage upselling across the team
- Drive bookings, booths, drinks packages and experiences
- Make sure campaigns are properly executed inside the venue
- Brief and motivate the team around key events and promotions
- Identify opportunities to increase spend and improve the customer experience
- Help create energy around key trading nights
Operational Responsibilities
You’ll also support the General Manager and wider management team with:
- Opening and closing the venue
- Running shifts
- Cashing up
- Stock counts and stock management
- Bar standards
- Team deployment
- Staff management and training
- Customer service and complaint resolution
- Venue presentation and cleanliness
- Security and late-night operating procedures
- Maintaining company standards
- Supporting recruitment and development of the team
About You
We’re not necessarily looking for someone who has already been a Deputy Manager.
You could currently be a Duty Manager, Assistant Manager, Bar Manager, Sales Manager or experienced hospitality manager who is ready for their next step.
What matters most is that you are confident, commercially minded, organised and comfortable taking ownership.
You should enjoy being on the floor, talking to customers, motivating a team and finding ways to make the venue busier and more successful.
