Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Cafe Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our vibrant café environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a passion for food and hospitality, and the ability to manage a team effectively. This role involves supervising food preparation, ensuring excellent customer service, and maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. The Cafe Supervisor will play a pivotal role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for guests while ensuring smooth operational flow.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily café activities, including food preparation, serving, and cleaning routines.
- Lead and motivate the team to deliver exceptional customer service whilst maintaining high standards of hospitality.
- Oversee food safety procedures, ensuring compliance with health regulations and company policies.
- Manage stock levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
- Assist in the preparation of food items, including cooking and culinary tasks as required.
- Train new staff members on operational procedures, food safety standards, and customer service expectations.
- Monitor staff performance, provide constructive feedback, and organise shift schedules to optimise efficiency.
- Handle customer enquiries or complaints professionally to ensure satisfaction.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment adhering to hygiene standards.
Requirements
- Proven experience in supervising within a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting with knowledge of food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Strong team management skills with the ability to lead by example and foster a positive working environment.
- Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food production.
- Previous experience in serving or barista roles is advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively during busy periods.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the capacity to motivate staff members and manage conflicts diplomatically.
- Good communication skills in British English with a friendly yet professional demeanour.
- Flexibility to work shifts that may include weekends or evenings if required; however, core hours are during operational hours of the café.
Pay: £13.21 per hour
