General Farm Hand
Job Type: Part-time / Full-time (25–40 hours per week)
Pay: £13.00–£15.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Job Summary
We are looking for a hardworking and reliable General Farm Hand to join our commercial farming team. This is a varied, hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will support the day-to-day running of the farm by carrying out a wide range of practical tasks, helping to keep the farm operating efficiently and to a high standard.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, is not afraid of getting their hands dirty, and is happy to turn their hand to whatever needs doing.
The position is offered on a 25–40 hour per week basis, depending on seasonal workload. Scheduled weekend working is an essential part of the role, with a rota in place. During busy periods, particularly lambing season, additional hours will be required, including early mornings, evenings and other unsociable hours, to meet the demands of the farm.
Responsibilities
- Carry out general farm maintenance and housekeeping.
- Assist with fencing, repairs, cleaning and tidying around the farm.
- Clean and maintain machinery, vehicles and equipment.
- Assist with the day-to-day care and handling of commercial livestock.
- Load, unload and move feed, bedding, equipment and other farm supplies.
- Support seasonal farming activities as required.
- Keep yards, buildings and work areas clean, safe and organised.
- Follow instructions from the farm management team and complete tasks to a high standard.
- Carry out any other general duties required to support the smooth running of the farm.

- Previous experience working with commercial livestock or in a commercial farming environment would be an advantage but is not essential.
- A full UK driving licence or experience operating farm machinery would be an advantage but is not essential.
