SMASHED is a bold new street food concept focused on delivering high-quality smash burgers with a modern, energetic twist. We operate from a custom-designed food trailer, bringing flavour, speed and great vibes to markets, events, and festivals. We’re looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Grill Chef to join our team and take the lead on the grill.
Role Overview
As a Grill Chef, you’ll be responsible for preparing and cooking smash burgers and related items to a high standard, maintaining consistency, speed, and food hygiene. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone who thrives under pressure and has a real passion for burgers and street food.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook smash burgers on a flat-top grill with precision and consistency
- Follow recipes and portion guidelines for patties, toppings, and sauces
- Set up and maintain a clean, organised grill station
- Ensure food is cooked and presented to our quality standards
- Handle food safely in line with HACCP and hygiene regulations
- Clean down equipment and work area at the end of shift
- Work as part of a small, dynamic team in a fast-paced environment
- Support with prep, customer interaction, and other general tasks when needed
Requirements
- Previous grill or kitchen experience required (street food experience a plus)
- Confidence working on a hot grill and managing multiple orders at once
- High attention to detail, cleanliness and speed
- Food Hygiene Level 2 (or willing to complete before starting)
- Strong work ethic, team player, and good under pressure
- Right to work in the UK
