The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for the post of a Registered Manager who will be responsible for the operations and development of the service. This is an exciting, progressive role, and we are looking for candidates who will bring creativity and lead a culture of continuous development and high aspirations for the company.
As Registered Manager, you will promote the values and objectives, and drive the vision, of the company. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining IOMI’s business operations, delivering high quality and safe services to our service group, and developing and maintaining good links with Local Authorities and other professional partners and stakeholders.
Reporting to the Service Manager or Nominated Individual, you will be expected to provide strong leadership to staff and the people we support, monitor performance and progress and be accountable for ensuring that all regulatory requirements and compliance matters are fully met.
Main Responsibilities
The post holder will:
- Have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service and is accountable for the delivery of a high-quality service provision, incorporating support, welfare, safety and security of service users to enable them to have a secure base and attain their independence goals.
- Ensure that all staff work in accordance with the Statement of Purpose as well as the policies and procedures of the service. You will update and continuously improve relevant documents, policies and procedures, practice standards and other relevant documents, seeking approval and communicating changes to regulatory bodies and others as appropriate.
- Demonstrate effective leadership and empower the staff team to deliver person-centred support working towards the best outcomes for service users.
- Manage, supervise, and mentor staff; organise work patterns and rotas, staff training, and conduct and record supervisions and appraisals.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of relevant regulations, Local Authority Safeguarding Procedures, and any subsequent changes to legislation or regulations.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of regulatory inspection guidelines, promptly implementing any recommendations following an Inspection. Timely notification of any significant events or changes within the service, including completion of appropriate reports within the given timeframe and in line with regulatory standards.
- Ensure staff team implement and adhere to the company's safeguarding policy and local authority safeguarding procedures.
- Work cohesively and in partnership with other professionals to contribute to the multidisciplinary assessment of the needs of service users and implement recommendations.
- Support service users to reach their goals and achieve independence skills.
- Ensure the relevant bodies and personnel are notified of all significant events, incidents, and important changes within 24 hours.
- Support service users to receive a service which best meets their individual social, racial, psychological, educational, cultural, physical and health care needs and ensure those facing particular crisis are offered appropriate additional support in a timely manner.
- Oversee the deployment of staff across the service ensuring shifts are covered to meet service level agreements.
- Ensure that health and safety regulations and guidelines are adhered to across the service, quality assurance report required actions are addressed promptly, appropriate records are kept and that fire drill procedures are adhered to in accordance with the company’s policies and procedures.
- Manage staff performance and development and promote a culture of continuous learning and development among the staff team; appropriately addressing poor performance or misconduct.
- Initiate, manage and participate effectively in the on-call duty system.
- Organise and chair monthly meetings with staff and ensure any agreed actions are implemented.
- Organise scheduled meetings with senior management and implement any actions agreed.
- Submit monthly monitoring and performance reports covering the full scope of the service to senior management.
- Provide periodic reporting to local and regulatory authorities as required.
- Ensure regular dialogue with local authorities when vacancies emerge.
- Attend Local Authority and multi-disciplinary and strategy meetings as required.
- Conduct regular quality assurance of the service to constantly strive to improve standards for service users in our care.
- Participate in local authority tender processes as required.
- Undertake other duties as may be necessary for the smooth operation of the service.
Person Specification
- The successful candidate will have:
- Experience of working in a senior or strategic role within a supported living or domiciliary setting with proven ability to lead staff teams.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management or equivalent or willingness to undertake the qualification on commencing the role.
- Resilient, enthusiastic, and motivated person who is physically fit to travel to different locations.
- Experience of dealing with Local Authority teams as well as senior management.
- Calm, approachable manner, adaptable and non-judgemental.
- Knowledge of safeguarding children and adults.
- Ability to work out of hours or at weekends.
- Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to communicate at all levels.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work under pressure and prioritise activities.
- Ability to manage a team, promote collaboration and use initiative.
- High level of literacy, numeracy, and computer skills.
Desirable
- Willingness to adapt to new ways of working, be flexible and creative.
- Social Work qualification or equivalent.
- Any relevant or transferrable skills, such as First Aid trained.
- Knowledge of therapeutic or trauma informed approach to supporting service users.
- Ability to drive and holds a current driving licence.
The post is subject to an enhanced DBS disclosure, an employment background check, satisfactory references & verification of right to work in the UK.
Pay: £45,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
