The Rising Sun, a historic and much-loved inn in the heart of Lynmouth, is looking for an enthusiastic and talented Sous Chef to join our passionate kitchen team.
As Sous Chef, you will play a key role in delivering our seasonally inspired, locally sourced menu. Working closely with the Head Chef, you’ll help ensure every dish reflects the quality and warm hospitality that The Rising Sun is known for.
What You’ll Do
- Support the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations
- Lead the kitchen in their absence and maintain high standards
- Contribute to menu development using fresh, local ingredients
- Ensure food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness are always top-priority
- Train, guide, and motivate junior kitchen staff
- Keep stock levels, ordering, and prep running smoothly

- Experience in a similar role or a strong background as a Chef de Partie ready for the next step
