Overview
This role is ideal for someone currently studying hairdressing or looking to develop their skills in a real salon setting. We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Hairdressing Assistant / Salon Junior (Part-Time) AFRO-HAIRSTYLIST preferred . This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about AFRO Hairdressing and want to gain hands-on experience and develop their skills in a professional environment.This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about hair, eager to learn, and looking to build real salon experience while working closely with an experienced stylist. Previous experience in store management, barbering, or customer service is advantageous but not essential.
Responsibilities
- Assisting with Afro hair client's preparation (sectioning, washing, detangling)
- Supporting styling services such as cornrows, crotchet , and treatments
- Keeping the salon clean, orgainised and client-ready
- Tracking salon stock and supporting with product setup / basic salon tasks
- Observing and learning advanced techniques during appointments
- Providing excellent customer care and professionalism
Requirements
- Previous experience in store management, barbering, or customer service is preferred but not mandatory
- Strong communication skills with an approachable manner
- Passion for the Afro Hair and eagerness to learn new skills such as chemistry of afro hair and Afro-styling techniques
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when needed
- Organised with good time management skills to handle multiple client appointments efficiently
- Flexibility to work part-time hours with availability during weekends is advantageous
- A professional attitude with a focus on delivering exceptional client experiences
