We are looking for a senior care assistant to work with older adults in a residential care setting. We are a small home looking after 18 residents who are frail or have dementia. This position may be full time or shared part time. You will need good communication and administration skills and need to be confident in leading your team. You will need to have your NVQ/QCF level 2 in health and social care and have experience of residential care. You may also have NVQ 3 or be working towards this. A full induction, training and support will be given by the Manager and Deputy Manager.
You will need to be committed to delivering the highest standards, working with our Residents to enhance their well being. Full training up to QCF Level 5 is available and vocational training in care associated areas will be given to the successful candidate on completion of their induction.
You will be responsible for administering medication, planning and co-ordinating care with your care assistants including the cooks. You will be responsible for the quality of care delivered and leading your team efficiently, making an enjoyable day for residents and staff.
You will be expected to work 4 shifts per week and 2 shifts every other weekend. Shifts are from 8 am to 3 pm and 3 pm to 10 pm, with a handover period between each shift. This position may be split between 2 seniors if required.
