Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Restaurant Cleaner to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within our restaurant premises. This role is essential in providing a safe, welcoming, and hygienic environment for both staff and customers. Prior experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial services is highly desirable. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic hospitality setting with a focus on cleanliness and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Clean and sanitise all dining areas, kitchens, restrooms, and service stations to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, and dust all surfaces regularly throughout the shift
- Disinfect tables, chairs, counters, and other high-touch surfaces frequently
- Restock cleaning supplies and toiletries as needed to ensure availability for staff and guests
- Remove rubbish and recycling from designated bins and dispose of waste appropriately
- Maintain cleaning equipment in good working order and report any malfunctions or repairs needed
- Follow health and safety procedures diligently to prevent accidents or contamination
- Collaborate with restaurant staff to coordinate cleaning schedules around service times for minimal disruption
Qualifications
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work is preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and safe handling procedures
- Strong attention to detail with organisational skills to maintain cleanliness standards consistently
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good physical stamina to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and perform repetitive tasks effectively
- Reliable and punctual with a professional attitude towards hygiene standards
- Flexibility to work during operational hours, including evenings or weekends if required
