We are urgently recruiting a Senior Support Worker (Team Leader) for our Residential Children’s Home in Luton.
If you have experience of leading the team in a care, support work, youth work, residential care or supported accommodation setting for children or young people with learning disabilities, we want to hear from you.
Your Role:
- Supervise and safeguard young people, ensuring their safety and wellbeing
- Conduct welfare checks in line with care plans and risk assessments
- Support and guide staff on shift, providing coaching and mentoring where needed
- Lead and manage responses to incidents or emergencies calmly and effectively
- Complete detailed, accurate reports and escalate concerns appropriately
- Maintain a safe, organised, and structured environment
- Ensure seamless handover and collaboration with the day team for continuity of care
- Act as a point of contact for management during the day
We are looking for someone who is:
- Calm, compassionate, patient, and emotionally resilient under pressure
- Able to lead and support a team independently
- Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and care planning
- Confident in reporting, record keeping, and verbal communication
- Right to work in the UK for at least 18 months
- Level 3 Residential Children’s Homes or working towards (desirable not essential)
- Minimum of 1 year supervisory experience within the sector
