About Lanswood
Lanswood Limited is an established property development company with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality commercial and residential projects across the region, including new builds, refurbishments, and managed developments. We are seeking reliable and hardworking self-employed labourers to support our site teams and contribute to the smooth delivery of ongoing projects. Working closely with site managers and tradespeople, you will assist across a range of developments, carrying out general labouring, site preparation, and support tasks. The ideal candidate will be dependable, adaptable, and take pride in maintaining clean, safe, and well-organised worksites. While previous experience in construction is preferred, we will also consider applicants who demonstrate the right attitude, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist tradespeople and site teams on construction and refurbishment sites
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment safely
- Keep work areas clean, tidy, and hazard-free at all times
- Help with basic preparation and finishing work, such as mixing materials or assisting decorators and carpenters
- Handle deliveries, move materials, and ensure proper storage on-site
- Follow all health and safety procedures and report any issues or hazards promptly
- Support with waste removal and site clean-up on project completion
- Maintain a flexible approach to work, supporting multiple projects as required
Requirements and Desired Skills
- Full UK driving licence (required)
- Previous experience working on construction or property development sites (preferred)
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to work as part of a team
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual labour
- Understanding of safe working practices and health and safety procedures
- Basic IT proficiency and an open-minded approach to using digital systems for task management and scheduling
- Certificates or training in the safe use of machinery, tools, or lifting equipment are advantageous
- Experience operating site plant is desirable, with a valid forklift licence preferred; additional plant tickets such as telehandler, dumper, or MEWP are also advantageous.
